Sunshine on Leith is a show-stopping musical drama of young love. Set in Edinburgh and backed by the iconic Proclaimers soundtrack, it tells the story of a family sent into a tailspin when two young men, Davy and Ally, return home from war. Ally returns to his girlfriend, Davy’s sister Liz, hoping to settle down; however, Liz may want more life than Leith has to offer. Davy returns home with no plans for the future, until he meets his sister’s friend Yvonne, and despite Yvonne’s caution over emotionally stunted Scottish men, they fall in love. As Davy’s parents’ anniversary approaches, a past family affair comes to light and these romances collide. In the aftermath, the family is put to the test, and they all must decide what they want for their future and what part love will play in it.
