Hi Society!

'Post-show blues'. It doesn't quite describe it accurately enough, does it? I prefer Paul's description: 'the burning indigoes of death'. It's much closer to the truth, and far more dramatic. But fear not! Your wonderful committee had an inkling that this might happen, and so several events are planned for the next few weeks until the end of term, allowing you your Cecilian fix a minimum of once a week - read on for details!

1. UPCOMING EVENTS
Before we get on to the Cecilian events, I am happy to mention to you that Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th March are SRC election days, and that a couple of current members of the Society are standing for positions - Ronan Radin for Vice-President (Student Support), and Dij Davies for re-election to the post of LGBT Students' Officer. See Ronan's message below and Dij's page at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=326597937525 . You can vote from any computer.

OK, so, to be a little sneaky, I shall say here that we are having a reunion (because it's been so long!) at Daly and Fieldhouse's flat TOMORROW (Wednesday) night at 7.30pm - see Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/cat.tyre?v=feed ... 526&ref=mf) for details!

And the day after, we're having a pub quiz (Thursday 4th March) at PJ Champs at 7.30pm. Do come along; it should be great post show banter! Check the forum (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=469) for more details on this and the other upcoming social events before the Weekend Away, and of course for the magical 'You know you were in The Wedding Singer when...' thread!

Speaking of the Weekend Away, Yasmin will be able to take money for this glorious event starting from this Thursday. The weekend itself is the last of term, Friday 26th - Sunday 28th March, and while the committee will be confirming a price on Thursday, it is likely to be no more than £40 for one of the best weekends of your life - this includes transport, accommodation and food for two nights. Listen out on Thursday or ask Yasmin for the confirmed price, and make sure you confirm your place!

Lastly, those of you who have been on the Weekend Away before will know that Organised Fun is organised on the Friday and Saturday nights by teams of two to three people. Should you feel that you wish to organise some Organised Fun then please give Yasmin your name/names by emailing social@ceciliansociety.co.uk before next Thursday 11th March (incidentally, my birthday - but not my party, it's on Friday 5th!). Ideally 'candidates' will have been on the Weekend Away, and hence experienced Organised Fun, previously. Woot!

2. A NOTE FROM RONAN
Hey guys! Suffering from post wedding jitters? Why not get involved in some glorious campaigning for the wonderful Ronan Radin! He is trying not to bombard you all with comments, emails and texts so would be extremely grateful if you could reply to this by giving him a wee text asap! Basically he is looking for people to campaign for him all Wednesday and Thursday (till 5)! 'What for?' I hear you ask... for Vice-President Student Support of the SRC. This is really important for him as it is a sabbatical position and means he would be essentially taking a year out (but don't worry - he'll still be a fully pledged Cecilian)! So please, please get in touch with him on 07833253213 or drop him an email/Facebook comment asap and help him out! If you can't help at all... and you better have a good reason (jokes) then please make sure you vote for him on the 3rd and 4th of March at http://www.glasgowstudent.net

Also, although many of you have just got your faces back, it really would be great if you could change your profile photo to his wonderful campaign photo. See his campaign page at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=3 ... 766&ref=ts .

Also if you have left anything at his flat then let him know what it is and how you want to get it.

Also his friend Ross Mitchell is running for GUU Debates Convenor and would be grateful for a vote as well!

Thanks for listening and all help and efforts will definitely be appreciated!

Ronan

(Note: Only registered members to The University of Glasgow can participate in any form of campaigning... If you're not a student you have an excuse and are lucky)

3. ALL THE PRESIDENT'S STRAIGHTENERS
As you may have heard already, Esther has lost her straighteners - they are black GHDs and were last seen somewhere in the Mitchell dressing rooms. She's already been to check and they are no longer there! Nor are they secreted about her person or stuck inside her fatsuit. If you have seen, or know the whereabouts of, the presidential straighteners then please get in touch with Esther on 07595363006, or she will never be able to straighten her hair again. That may be a slight over-dramatification, but still...

And there we have another fun-filled email for you! A week of Cecilian events coming up including the pub quiz, payment opening for the Weekend Away, elections to help campaign for and vote in, and straighteners to find. Who thought life would be dull without show week? Although to be fair, it is still a little blue...

See you all soon!
