The weekend show for the next academic year (09/10) is Bugsy Malone. Rehearsals start on Thursday 24th September 2009 and the performance is on Sunday 27th September 2009. (Venue TBC)

The main show for the next academic year (09/10) will be The Wedding Singer. It is to be performed from Wednesday 24th - Saturday 27th February 2010 (Hopefully in the Mitchell Theatre). More details to be announced at a later date.

More Cecilian banter is on its way - we are having a BBQ on Sunday 28th June! Venue to be announced at a later date.

The cost will be £5 per head and this will include all your BBQ food and possibly some drink.

Hello, this is Kenny. I am your new webmaster, I am sure you have noticed a change. Don’t panic, I am learning how to use Wordpress (I am more of a Blogger fan myself) and update the website. As I work out how to use this I will put up a more permanent page.

The AGM is this Thursday (7th May). Please make an effort to be there in Committee Room 1, QMU at 7pm. This is your chance to have a say in how the Society is run!

If you would like to put yourself forward for the 2009/2010 committee, please give your nomination to Ben Galloway by 7pm on Wednesday 6th May 2009.

And come to the pub after Thursday’s meeting!

Tickets are now available for the January production of Carmen - the Musical priced £12/£7 in advance. Performances run from 28th - 31st January 2009. To place your order, please fill in the form on the back of the flyer or telephone 07783 384 200. Alternatively you can email tickets@ceciliansociety.co.uk.

You may be aware that the main show is earlier than usual this year and you may also have worked out that this leaves us with a bit of a gap between the start of February and the end of term. The committee will be having a meeting to discuss what could be done in this gap, or “third term” on Tuesday 28th October. If you have any ideas that you would like to be considered, please tell a committee member before the above date. Any and all ideas will be greatly appreciated!

The deadline for payment of membership money is Thursday 6th November 08. The prices are as follows:

Fresher to the society: £3
Returning student: £10
Returning non-student: £25

If you have not paid by the 6th then you will not be allowed in the show. We would like you to be in the show, so please give your money to Kirsty Yeung ASAP. Thanks!

Next Thursday (30th October 08) we will be holding interviews for a co-option committee member (Ordinary Board Member). If you would like an interview please send your mobile number to Ben via text or email by 7pm on Wednesday 29th October.
