8/12/11 Rehearsals CANCELLED – a note from Yasmin:
Guys, really sorry but tonight’s rehearsal is CANCELLED. Due to blinking obvious circumstances if you have been around Facebook at all. The QM is closed and people are being advised to stay in their homes for their own safety so we do not want to compromise that!!
Boys involved in ‘It’s a Scandal, It’s a Outrage’ we would like to reschedule this for Sunday afternoon as we can’t afford to fit it in somewhere else. Apologies for short notice and any inconvenience. I’m going to text you all but please let me know if you are available so we can get it planned as soon as possible! Thanks!!
STAY SAFE EVERYONE!!!! xxxxxxxxxxx

ANYTHING GOES
The Weekend Show is fast approaching! We invite you aboard our 24 hour production of Anything Goes THIS THURSDAY 22nd September 2011 at 7pm in Committee Room 1, QMU.
Come along and get involved whether you’re a singer, dancer, actor, techie, or complete novice! We have an open chorus policy, which means you don’t even have to audition to be in the show. For those interested in principal parts, we will be holding group auditions tomorrow evening, but don’t worry about preparing anything – we’ll teach you everything you need to know beforehand. All you’ll need to bring with you is a bottle of water and £3, which is your membership for the entire year.
We will be rehearsing 7-10pm Thursday, 7-10pm Friday*, 10am-10pm Saturday, and 10am right up until show time at 7.30pm on Sunday!
(*Please note, if you are cast in a principal part you will be needed earlier on the Friday, times to be confirmed.)
So ALL ABOARD and we hope to see you there!

The End is Nigh…
…but there’s still plenty of things to be doing! Here follows a rundown of the last few events of this Cecilian year.
This coming Saturday 7th sees the annual Cecilian Dinner Dance, the highlight of our social calendar for all members and friends of the Society. Tickets are £25 including wine, a three-course meal and a ceilidh – these must be purchased by this coming Thursday 5th May, so please get in touch with Ronan (social@ceciliansociety.co.uk) or another Committee member ASAP if you wish to attend, and respond on Facebook if you can. There will be a Committee meeting on the 5th at 6pm if you wish to pay then, and please let Ronan know if you have any specific dietary requirements.
We have finally had this year’s batch of Cecilian hoodies printed, so if you ordered one please get in touch with Sam (publicity@ceciliansociety.co.uk) to exchange £20 for it. Again, these will be around during the Committee meeting this Thursday 5th if you wish to pop in then and pick yours up. (There are also the final few Our House t-shirts for those who ordered them – same things apply, but these are just £5.)
Finally, remember that the AGM will be held on Thursday 12th May at 7pm in Committee Room 1, QMU, where we will report on the previous year and elect the new Committee for next year – nominations for which are open now! See the message from Laura Bauld for full gory details, and remember that if you’re unsure about any aspect of the elections, whether to run or what to run for, please speak to any Committee members who will be happy to answer any questions you have and clarify the subtleties of our election process.
Remember to get in touch if you want to attend the Dinner Dance, and see you all soon!
Weekend Away!
Now that it’s just a couple of days away and people are starting to have questions, this seems like a good time to give some info about the Weekend Away!
No-one gets left behind! There are currently 52 Cecilians heading north to the Gulabin Lodge this weekend. Naturally we’re now pretty maxed out on spaces. Meet at the GUU at 5pm on Friday to get on the bus. Full details of how we’re doing this are too complex to list here (ask if you’re really interested) but many millions of thanks must be extended to the Committee for their time in sorting all of the arrangements out!
Your Organised Fun for the Weekend will be provided by Niall and John Gerard on Friday night (with guest appearances from Yasmin and Ronan), Laura Bauld and Eilidh McMillan on Saturday daytime, and Dom and Ashleigh on Saturday evening. I am excited!
Lastly, let Ronan (social@ceciliansociety.co.uk) know if you have any dietary requirements or allergies, including vegetarian, before the end of tomorrow (Wednesday) please. Bring snacks if you want (although there will be some communal) but definitely BYOB. No need to bring bedding but bring your own towel if you want one. Price includes food, transport and accommodation, but it never hurts to think like a scout and be prepared.
Any questions, come to the Video Night tomorrow and ask them there! Or email, ask away on Facebook, etc. Have fun!
