Hi guys!

As you may be aware, the Committee met last night and constructed a shortlist from which to choose next year's shows. Within the coming weeks, we will be attempting to gather as much information about the shows on this list as possible, so as to make a well-informed decision on which shows to choose.

Thus, if anyone has any perusal material relating to the following shows that they could offer us, it would be very helpful. 'Perusal material' is a very general term: it includes CDs/mp3s of songs that you own, scripts or scores from the production, thoughts of people who have done the show before, videos/info on the internet... you get the idea. If you have anything that you could offer, please email me via president@ceciliansociety.co.uk

The shows on the list are as follows, in alphabetical order:

All Shook Up
Back to the Eighties
Blitz!
Boogie Nights
Chess
Copacabana
Fiddler on the Roof
Honk!
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
Our House
Seussical
The Wiz

If you feel strongly about any particular show/s, I would encourage you to take a look at the Show Choice website at http://www.ceciliansociety.co.uk/showchoice where a procedure is laid out as to what happens now. If you wish to email your opinions to the Committee, please send them to showchoice@ceciliansociety.co.uk

If you wish to attend the show choice meeting, it would be helpful if you could let Laura Bauld know on secretary@ceciliansociety.co.uk - note that there is time at the start of the meeting for people to champion particular shows, and then time for general discussion which anyone can attend. This meeting is provisionally scheduled for Thursday 3rd June, beginning at sometime in the early afternoon. If this changes I will post here again.

When giving feedback about a show, please state whether you would consider it for Weekend Show, Main Show, or both. The Committee already have an idea of which shows they think should be considered for each, but any clear strong Society feeling about what a show should be considered for will of course be given due time and discussion.

I think that's all, and I hope to hear from you soon regarding perusal material or the shows themselves!

Hi guys!

It has been confirmed that the show choice meeting will take place on Thursday 3rd June (that's this coming Thursday) at 12noon, in Committee Room 1 in the QMU. The meeting will not finish any later than 6pm, when hopefully all necessary decisions will have been made. If not, a decision about what to do will be made at the end of the meeting.

If you would like to attend the meeting as a champion of one of the shows on the above shortlist, please email Laura Bauld on secretary@ceciliansociety.co.uk to let her know which show you would like to 'sell' to the Committee. If you don't wish to champion a particular show but would still like to participate in the discussion, you of course may do so by simply turning up to the meeting at 12, and may participate until the open discussion closes. Full details can be found on http://www.ceciliansociety.co.uk/showchoice

I hope to hear from lots of you soon!
