Hi Society!

Well, this is it. We're now at T-minus 5 days and counting, and there's still plenty to do and to know. So, without further ado, it is my pleasure to be able to present to you a tentative timetable for everything Cecilian from now through show week. Do read on!

1. LAST REHEARSALS AND OTHER NEWS
As I would hope we all know by now, our last normal rehearsal is taking place tomorrow, Thursday 18th February, from 7pm in the QMU as normal. Again, this will entail a full run of the show, so please bring as much costume etc as you can muster so we can get a feel for what we'll all actually need to do. The techies should be there to watch the run as well and plan exactly what they need to do, so please bring any props that you have offered so we can use them and the techies can store them - we still have almost no-one offering clipboards or trays so if you can source either of these and bring them on Thursday that would be great!

A quick note also from Yasmin - there were some potential plans for a trip to revisit Reflex tonight, but unfortunately they have now decided that they will not be open! Henceforth, don't go - we'll try and visit again after show week if we can.

2. SUNDAY
Sunday 21st is the sitzprobe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitzprobe) which is essentially a rehearsal with the orchestra, and marks the official start of show week! This will be starting at 12.30pm in the Catholic Chaplaincy on Southpark Avenue. If you don't know where this is, check out the University map (http://www.gla.ac.uk/media/media_1887_en.pdf - Building E11) or join the posse - Sarah Daly will be meeting people at the main gate of the University at 12noon to walk there. Lorna recommends you bring a book or some work to do as there will be a fair bit of sitting about waiting for songs. After the sitzprobe is finished we will move to the GUU and continue with our final run-throughs of the show. You can therefore expect to be in all day, although obviously with breaks for food etc!

3. MONDAY/TUESDAY
Monday is the start of show week proper, where we are allowed into the theatre! The whole cast call on Monday, and for the rest of the week (except Saturday of course) is 5.30pm. The call is the latest time that you should be in the theatre - there will be a sign-in sheet in the green room upon which you MUST record your movements in and out of the theatre; this is required to comply with fire safety law. In case you're still hazy about where the theatre actually is, here it is on Google Maps:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc ... 17&iwloc=C

and here is a picture:

The above topic also notes some 'directions' to the Mitchell - again, if you're confused, just ask. If you're using public transport to get there, the easiest way is probably the 44 bus into town, or the train to Charing Cross. You can get the subway too - to St George's Cross - but this is further away than either the bus stop or train station. Once you get to the building, walk around to the opposite side from the dome, and use the entrances behind the giant stone figures. You will then be in the atrium of the Mitchell - turn to your left and you will see a door with a code-lock next to the gents' toilets. This is where you're going. No, the locked door, not the toilets.

There are four dressing rooms in the Mitchell: the provisional plan is that two of these will be for the ladies, one for the gentlemen, and one for the band and the make-up girls. When you get there, it'll be simple enough to find out which is which; there will be signs, and most probably other people there before you! Incidentally, you will be fine to leave things such as costume in the Mitchell changing rooms, so long as it is left tidily, otherwise the cleaners don't like it. Please don't leave any valuables though.

Monday night in the theatre will be the tech rehearsal - this will be hopefully a full run of the show with all the tech we can muster. People on the production team, committee, or tech crew may get stressed and shout - please don't take this personally, everyone has an awful lot to do! Tuesday night should be a bit more stress-free: this will be the dress rehearsal, and your call is again 5.30pm. Note that on both nights we will probably finish just before 11pm, depending on exactly what has to happen and how it goes.

4. WEDNESDAY
"Trust me - this is where the good times really start." Oh yes, Wednesday night will come around like there's no stopping it, and it'll be fabulous. Again, the call is 5.30pm to give you enough time to get costumed and made up before the show starts.

A very important point: members of the public will be coming to see the show starting from this night! This may seem obvious, but it has a number of repercussions: firstly, once you are in costume and make-up you cannot leave the backstage area for any reason. Secondly, you may have tickets that you want to leave on the door. To ensure that the ticket process is as smooth as possible, any tickets to go on the door must be with Sarah Daly by 6pm on any performance night, and must have specific info with them - I have attached Sarah's show week ticket guide, so please check it out for the full details. Also in there are the deadlines for ordering tickets at the advance prices.

The show will of course begin at 7.30pm. After we're all done, changed, make-up removed, etc., it's time for the traditional Wednesday night Tech Party, which this year will be held at Ami and Gemma's, so listen out in the theatre for the address. A badly hand-drawn map will most likely also go up in the Green Room, which I look forward to immensely.

5. THURSDAY/FRIDAY
Thursday and Friday follow much the same pattern as Wednesday: in for 5.30pm, show at 7.30pm, party (but not too hard) afterwards! On the Thursday night we will all be heading to the Postgrad Club on University Gardens (across from the QMU) where we have a whole floor and a DJ to ourselves. On Friday night it is the legendary Curry Night, which will be held at John Gerard's flat - again look out for an amazing map. Curry Night is the only show week social which costs - there's a small fee for all the curry you can eat, so feel free to stuff yourself while perking your voice up with some lovely spices. Listen out in rehearsal tomorrow for the exact amount, which should be paid to Yasmin before the Thursday of Show Week.

6. SATURDAY/SUNDAY
Saturday is obviously a little different - your call will be 12.30pm for the matinee starting at 2.30pm. Once the matinee is finished you will have a very limited time (probably less than an hour) before you need to start getting ready for the evening performance, so it's advisable to bring food with you. If you leave the theatre between shows you must sign out and then sign back in again.

After our final grand evening performance it will be time to clear out of the theatre! Everything that belongs to the Cecilian Society, including people, must be out of the theatre by 0000 on the Saturday night, so no-one will be allowed to leave to go to the Aftershow until they are told they can do so - we need everyone to help with numerous things including dismantling set, packing up props into the van, and cleaning scores. On that note, anyone who has been given a script must return it to Laura Bauld by the Saturday matinee, or else you will be charged the full replacement fee.

Once that's done and everything is packed away in the stores, it's time to head to Katie and Ronan's (look out for, you guessed it, a map!) where the tech crew awards will be made and everyone is free to party as hard as they like as we while away the wee small hours until bacon o'clock. On the Sunday, some sort of pub lunch/dinner will no doubt take place, which I encourage you all to attend - trust me, it'll help the hangover.

So there you have it - a short (ha!) guide to show week. If I've missed anything or you have any other questions whatsoever, please feel free to give us a holler. Other than that, I'll see you tomorrow for one more exciting run - until then!
